“And the time came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom”
— Anais Nin

Hi, I’m Susan Yun, a Certified Canadian Counsellor, and a Counselling Therapist based in Edmonton, Alberta. In my role as a counsellor, I am dedicated to providing a safe, welcoming space for you to share your unique story, navigate through challenging experiences and emotions, and acquire healthier coping strategies for life’s complexities. I place immense value on the therapeutic relationship and truly believe each person has the power to find the best solutions for themselves and cultivate positive changes in their lives.

As a first-generation Korean therapist in Canada, my therapeutic approach is deeply enriched by the complexities of my bicultural experiences, offering a distinctive perspective in my role as a therapist. With over 20 years of experience in diverse settings, including South Korea, the United States, and Canada, I bring a combination of lived experience and academic expertise to my practice. This unique background equips me to assist individuals and couples on their distinctive healing journeys, fostering compassion and preparing me to better understand the clients who entrust me with their stories. Additionally, I maintain a connection to mindfulness and a personal commitment to contemplative lifestyles.

I believe in the innate value of all people and want to help you draw on your inner strengths to overcome adversities and thrive in life so that you can heal from past wounds, re-discover yourself, rebuild stronger relationships, and create your best life. I have a genuine passion for my work, and it brings immense joy to accompany my clients on their path through challenging times. It is never too late to cultivate positive changes in your life and become the one you are meant to be. It has happened in my life, it has been happening to the clients I worked with, and it can certainly happen in your life, too. I truly believe it!

Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.
